This course effectively combines a Provide First Aid course HLTAID003 with the Asthma / Anaphylaxis Management combined course.
People working in education / childcare fields normally are required to do either this HLTAID004 Provide Emergency First Aid in an Education and Care setting, or to have a current First Aid Certificate HLTAID003 Provide First Aid plus The Asthma / Anaphylaxis combined course.
I can usually work this course in with the Community College First Aid courses in Lismore, Byron Bay, Mullumbimby, Alstonville, Ballina, and Yamba.

Unit Being Delivered
The following unit(s) will be awarded to successful participants in this course. The certificate will be issued by Allens Training Pty Ltd RTO 90909.
• HLTAID004 Provide an emergency first aid response in an education and care setting
• HLTAID003 Provide first aid
• HLTAID002 Provide basic emergency life support
• HLTAID001 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation

Course Delivery
This course will be delivered at the relevant Community College or at the premises of the business / client.
Course Duration (face to face)
• Blended delivery – 6 hours (minimum) face to face course – with the addition of 2-hour self-paced learning to be completed prior to attending the face to face course. This learning accessed online at Allens Training Desk or, if required, a paper workbook version can be provided.
• Refresher training – 6 hours (minimum) – conditions apply for this option, for example, you will need to provide previous current certificates.
• Face to Face – 10 hours (minimum) – full face to face course. We provide this option by arrangement with a client that has a full group needing this option.
Entry Requirements
• Participants must have the ability to establish and maintain first aid facilities. also to perform 2 minutes of CPR on the floor, with an adult manikin
• Participants must be able to use a computer, conduct research on the internet. (ASCIA’s website https://www.allergy.org.au is the national source of anaphylaxis information and procedures).
Work Placement Arrangements
No work placement will be required as part of this course.
Assessment Requirements
People undertaking this course will complete both written and practical assessment tasks as detailed below.
Assessment Activities
Assessments conducted during face-to-face training session(s) include:
Performance tasks – The assessor must observe the following performance tasks:

Turn a casualty on his/her side

Bleeding control & shock

Practical scenarios – The assessor must observe the following practical scenario:
- Perform CPR on an adult, child, and infant for 2 minutes
- Breathing Difficulties – Asthma
- Anaphylaxis management
Theory assessment

Research relevant websites to locate First Aid Codes of Practice and answer written questions

Complete a written first aid response plan form

A written assessment consisting of multiple-choice and short answer questions. You must complete all assessment questions.
Course Fees and Payments
• Refund and fee protection policy – Please refer to the student handbook.
• Payment Terms – Payment for individual participants is to the relevant Community College. (Usually before the course. $160 – $170 depending on the College). Group booking payment terms are based on agreement between the client and service provider. I usually invoice after delivery of the course. Per person rates from minimum 5 pts @ $150 pp on a sliding scale to $100 pp for 20 or so.
